Things Kids say

Carrie took Spencer to McDonalds last week and after he ate he was playing in the playground --- he met someone there that was in his school and was playing with her when out of the blue starts saying " my dad burps and farts all the time.. all day long" if you know spencer you know he does not have a quiet voice but a loud meyer voice..... needless to say carrie was about as red as a fire engine and told spencer no more bathroom words in public.

Hadden came home with a sheet from school that said if i had a 100 i would: spend it on a eggrsive dog. so if someone tried to break in my house they are going to become barbeque - you turn over the page and he has a picture with a quote : chew him up.

the 7-8 year old heat - haddens team are having a good season. they are 7-1 today and hadden had a good game and scored a bucket. the kid he was guarding today was at least a foot taller than him so that was a challenge. we won the game 28-16

December - Christmas

Some highlights:
Hadden - electric scooter (his comment - for 13 years and up), DS games, an MP3 player, lego set, bay blades (round spinning tops that battle)
Spencer - a nintendo DS, cungzoo pets, bay blades (round spinning tops that battle) and a bunch of bade blades
a few board games and toher toys --- a months ago Hadden came home from school and told us that some of his friends have a game night... so the last few months that we have been in town friday night has turned into "Pizza Night, Movie Night" and Sunday has turned into game night (nintendo wii to sorry sliders, to battle ship).

not sure where this game from but both the kids have gotten caught saying "pickles" or pickle juice after you say something --- there comment will be on these 2 sayings.. must of been one of there shows they watch

kids are loving there IPODS - both are singing right night as i write this. spencer enjoys drawing a lot, coloring - he is does quite a bit of this every week.

Hadden's 7-8 basketball team lost there first game - i am coaching with a friend of mine and today we were outmanned.... score of the game was 38-26 which is a lot of points at this age....our kids played hard and gave it their all...hadden had his best game of the season on defense but did not shoot the ball today.. also signed up spencer for his first season of soccer this spring.. he is very excicted that he will have his own team and that i am coaching....he has been dragged to 4 seasons of soccer, 2 baseball seasons, 2 basketball season, and an all star baseball tournments..... so he is due for a turn.......

Halloween

Hallowen was a great time this year with the kids. Hadden was freddie kruger and spencer was a glow in the dark skeleton. we had the annual chilli cookoff in the culdasac and trick or treated with a huge group of kids.. spencer did a disappearing act for about 5 min while carrie and i ran aroudn the neighborhood looking for him...carrie and i had a halloween party the night before at chris and ann's house... needless to say the host did not tell us that their costume was pirate because that is what we dresseed up as 20 version and their costume was the 200 version... needless to say we looked more like deck hands.

this week while gettting a flat tire fixed spencer wore the mask in the store and got some smiling looks.. hadden was not a fan and before we went to lowes he said spencer take off the mask.. spencer with his evil laugh ran around a bit egging on his older brother.. while hadden was getting embarrased

1 Chatanooga - to visit the Choo Choo train, rock city, and downtown area.

Baseball - haddens team playing on the redsox won the league tournment. he then made the all star team and played mostly 3rd base (defense is better than hitting at this point) - traveld to Dyer TN where there were 15 other teams from around the state and came 5th. fun times with all the other parent and had a good group of kids.
4. Patrick and Michelle house to swim and cook out a lot

7 several trip to birmingham to see the my family
8. watched cooper play a baseball tournament at bethesda
9. Meyer family reunion in birmingham - all the cousins from all over came in and we had a a great time.

Spencer Sayings

some funny things spencer has said recently.

1. giving us the crazy look after i have told him to eat his food and don't give me that look --his response -- that isn't look that is my face.
2. rocky man.... arguing with a friend of his who is trying to tackle him - he hits him in the face (2nd time this has happened) - his friend goes and tells on him and he gets in trouble ---- heard later arguing --- the little boys says there are no more box juices to eat ---- without missing beat Spencer " you don't eat box juices you drink them.
3. at the grocery store, - spencer you would argue that the sky is not blue --- well today it is not blue dad -- it is blue with white clouds today.
4. at home depot and carrie alway says "really greg -really" when i am saying or doing something questionable.....so i bought a weed eater and was trying to fit it in my car when spencer in the back seat could not get buckled and said ---"really greg, really"

Memorial Day Trip to Chattanooga Choo Choo

We decided to go back to Chattanooga for the 2nd time in the last couple months. This time we stayed at the Chattanooga Choo Choo – which is the old train station that they have made into a hotel – complete with trains and you can actually sleep and eat in train cars. It has a great little down town area with the aquarium, manmade streams where kids can splash around and a neat park across the river. We had a great time and as we were driving home we asked the kids there favorite part about the trip.

Now I understand why my dad quit planning family vacations and opted for the lake!!!!
